Jedward are known for having a laugh but last night they had to be rescued by the coastguard after becoming trapped on a sandbank near Malahide.
The pair were apparently out for a walk with their cousin at Donabate in Dublin when the tide closed in around them.
John and Edward Grimes contacted their mother who then notified the coastguard. According to The Sun, a helicopter crew located the trio before a rescue crew was sent out to guide them to safety.
Speaking to the newspaper about the incident, John said: “What we want to get across is how quickly this all happened. This got out of hand before we even realised.
“We would urge young people to be very careful around water and the sea. This could have been a tragedy but for the good work of the Coast Guard”.
