Jennifer Aniston has dealt with pregnancy rumours throughout her career, but has insisted that she doesn’t feel like a woman’s worth should be measured by having children.

The actress, who is engaged to Justin Theroux, spoke about her confusion at people’s interest in whether she’ll have children during a recent interview with the Today show.

Speaking about her career and the interest in her personal life, Aniston said:

“I don’t have this sort of checklist of things that have to be done, and… if they’re not checked, then I’ve failed some part of my feminism or my being a woman or my worth and my value as a woman.

“She added that she doesn’t feel any less fulfilled just because she hasn’t had children. I’ve birthed a lot of things and I feel like I’ve mothered many things. And I don’t think it’s fair to put that pressure on people.”

The star said she ‘doesn’t understand’ why people are so interested in her, and is now starting to accept that she needs to keep this aspect of her life private:

“It’s always such an issue of, like, “Are you married yet? Have you had babies yet?” And it’s just constant.”
