According to Digital Spy, the singer will not be performing due to unprecedented "production issues."
It seems that Brazilian singer Claudia Leitte will be performing We Are One, the official World Cup song, alongside Pitbull at the opening ceremony. Leitte featured alongside Lopez on the track.
Over the past few weeks, there has been quite the controversy over the World Cup song with the host country Brazil claiming that they preferred Shakira's Time For Africa from the last World Cup.
FIFA have been criticized for mainly featuring a Spanish-speaking singer on the track.
