Jesse Williams is officially coming back to Grey’s Anatomy

Ellen Fitzpatrick

Grey’s Anatomy fans, this is one you’ll definitely want to hear.

As fans of the long running show will remember, the last time we saw Jesse Williams on the show was during the season 17 finale when Dr. Avery left Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital to head to the Harper Avery Foundation in Boston, alongside April Kepner.

But it seems that this won’t be the last we see of Jackson on the show as he is set to make an appearance in the newest series of the show, E! News has confirmed.

After starring on 12 seasons of the show, Jesse is set to return to the iconic role in one of the upcoming episodes of season 19.

This time in a guest starring role, Jackson will return to Grey Sloan Memorial on November 3rd.

The episode is titled When I Get to the Border and will also see Ellen Pompeo’s character Dr. Meredith Grey going to Boston to pay Jackson a visit – and Jesse is also set to direct the episode.

If you remember the moment Jackson was last on our screens, you’ll remember that he and April had fans going wild when they were seen kissing in a lift at the hospital, and many have been dying to know what happens next as their romance has always been on and off.

But to find out what happens, we might be waiting a little bit longer as the actress who plays April, Sarah Drew, is not set to be in the episode. That is unless Jackson spills the beans himself.

You can watch season 19 of Grey’s Anatomy on Disney+ from 26 October.
