According to reports, actor Johnny Depp could face jail time after illegally bringing his pet dogs into Australia.

Johnny is in Australia to film the latest instalment of The Pirates of the Carribbean and he brought Pistol and Boo along with him.

An investigation by a Senate committee found that Depp failed to declare the presence of his pet terriers which is against Australian protocol.

A law dictates that dogs must be kept in quarantine for ten days when entering the country, in order to prevent the spread of disease.

As Johnny failed to comply with this, The Sydney Morning Herald reports that he could face up to ten days in prison or a maximum fine of $340,000.

Pistol and Boo’s visit to the country was only discovered when they visited a dog grooming salon and photos were uploaded to Facebook.

They have since returned to the United States with Johnny’s wife Amber but the actor may still face charges after breaking the quarantine law.
