Justin Timberlake speaks out about struggles he faced as a new dad

Just when you think A-lister celebrities don’t experience the daily struggles of parenthood, someone surprises you with a quote that makes you think that maybe they’re not so untouchable.

In a recent and candid interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the pop and film star revealed his vulnerability at the time his son was born. Timberland and his wife, Jessica Biel had a baby boy, Silas in 2015, but the singer claims it took eight months for him to catch his breath after his baby’s arrival. Like most new dads, we suspect.

“Those first eight months felt like those old [Ed Sullivan] shows where people are balancing spinning plates on poles — except if you drop one, they die.” “At first, it broke me down,” he admitted in the interview.

We all know when you become a parent, the feelings of responsibility, the reflection on your own childhood, and analysis of your own parents’ methods of parenting all come to the surface, and just because you’re one of the most famous people in the world, doesn’t mean you are immune.

“You go through your life with your own traumas, big and small, and think, ‘It’s not that bad, I have a lot to be thankful for, my parents did the best they could.” “But then you have a child of your own, and suddenly it opens all the floodgates, and you’re like, ‘No, no, no! That childhood trauma really did f— me up!”

But, it seems, it’s not all daunting for the star, he is loving teaching his number one record ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling,’ to his little mini-me.infectious song was inspired by Silas, so we all have him to thank for our kids singing this on repeat every weekend! “Watching him jump around to ‘Can’t Stop the Feeling!’ starting to learn words because of that song — it’s the best thing in the world,”
