Kate Middleton ignored this royal tradition on her wedding and it led to serious tension

Uh oh.

New information regarding Kate Middleton’s wedding has emerged that reveals the Duchess of Cambridge deviated from royal tradition on the day.

Yes, apparently she ignored a request from the royal family that led to serious tension.

And as we all know, traditions and rules come as part and parcel of being a royal.

According to The Express, royal brides typically wear their hair up for weddings, but Kate decided to leave her signature brunette locks mostly down, opting for a subtle soft curl with a small section tied up.

The royal couple tied the knot in Westminster Abbey back in 2011, where the ceremony was led by the Archbishop of Canterbury and attended by 1,900 guests.

In the documentary William and Kate: The Journey, journalist Ashley Pearson revealed that the royal family wished for Kate to tie her hair up, but the Duchess of Cambridge had other ideas:

“Kate had her heart set on wearing her hair down with long flowing curls, which is her favourite way to wear it, and actually William’s favourite as well.”

In the end, a compromise was struck and Kate wore her hair half up half down and later in the evening when she changed dresses, Kate left her hair completely down.

However, this isn’t the only was the royal pair deviated from tradition, Kate was also the first “commoner” to marry into the royal family in three and a half centuries. The couple also broke tradition by staying in Buckingham Palace instead of following suit and going on their honeymoon the night of the wedding.

Absolute rebels.
