Kate Winslet has revealed this week that the Oscar she received for The Reader back in 2009 has a very special home in her house.

The actress admitted that the trophy is in the bathroom so that visitors have the chance to practise their acceptance speeches.
“The whole point is for everybody to pick it up and go, ‘I’d like to thank my son and my dad’ – and you can always tell when someone has, because they’re in there a little bit longer after they flushed,” she told WSJ magazine.

“They’ll come out looking slightly pink-cheeked. It’s hysterical.”
