Kensington Palace shocked after Meghan’s personal assistant quits suddenly

Kensington Palace have been left at a loss after Meghan Markle's personal assistant quit suddenly.

The PA, known only as Melissa, left her job without much warning recently after just six months working for the former actor. She was the Duchess of Sussex's closest aide in the palace. The Daily Mail reports that both the palace and the royal family are surprised that Melissa quit having only been in the role for a short amount of time. A source told the publication: "It’s a real shock. Why would she want to leave such a prestigious job so soon?" Kensington Palace declined to provide a statement as to why Meghan's PA had left so suddenly, however they did offer a tribute to the aide saying that she would be missed. "Melissa is a hugely talented person," they said. "She played a pivotal role in the success of the Royal Wedding and will be missed by everyone in the Royal Household." Melissa's role in the royal wedding was thought to be extremely notable considering the swathes of press attention not just concerning the event itself, but those who weren't invited. In the lead up to the day, members of Meghan's family - including her father, Thomas Markle - spoke to the press at length about the former Suits actor and whether they were going to attend the ceremony. Meghan was supposedly distraught that her father pulled out just days before he was supposed to walk her up the aisle. This comes after reports that Meghan and the Queen had a bit of a clash in the lead up her and Harry's wedding. Apparently, the pair had a "heated exchange" when Meghan wanted to wear an emerald tiara for the big day. However, the Queen wasn't entirely sure where that specific piece had come from so she urged Meghan to go for something different. Prince Harry also apparently "hit the roof" when he was told that his then wife-to-be couldn't have what she wanted. Meghan eventually ended up wearing a diamond and platinum tiara from the Queen's collection. Tough life.
