Laura Whitmore set to join brand new dating show
No better woman, tbh.
Laura Whitmore has landed herself a brand new role on a dating show, after announcing her departure from Love Island earlier this year.
The Bray native will narrate Date Night, an Amazon Prime Video original, which allows singletons to enlist the help of their friends and family to find the love of their life.
While a release date has not been given, the official synopsis has been released, and it sounds super juicy.
It reads: "In Date Night, lovelorn singles will search for their perfect partner using a bespoke dating app with a twist.
"From the comfort of their sofas, alongside their friends and family, the app will be visible on their living room televisions, allowing everyone to see and comment as they browse potential dates, swipe, and chat.
"Singletons can consult with their nearest and dearest on how to craft the perfect opening message, take their advice on whether eligible suitors are up to scratch, and if they secure a ‘match’ the couples will meet for a unique date where every look, flirtatious comment, and awkward remark is filmed for their friends and family back home."
With three seasons of Love Island under her belt, we know Date Night is going to be in steady hands with Laura at its helm.
The star informed fans that she was leaving the ITV show a few months ago, citing the trickiness of travelling back and forth as one of the reasons.
Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "I wish it was still possible but know you’ll be in safe hands. I was only planning to fill in for Caroline for a series and it turned into 3 series."
She added that she hoped she did her late friend "proud".
Maya Jama was announced as her replacement. Confirming the news on social media, she shared that she is "so bloody excited" to get on the island.
