“Everything is run through with the islanders beforehand. It’s all about choice.”

TV presenter Laura Whitmore has shared some background information regarding last night’s Love Island reunion episode.

The show saw all the islanders – except for Jake – come together in a studio to reflect on their time in the villa.

Since it aired, Laura took to her Instagram stories to share some insight into how the show is made, and underlined how every islander approves each question before she interviews them.

She started by sharing a DM she received in which someone told her she asked “invasive questions based off tabloid stories”.

Laura replied saying that everyone sees the questions before they go on air and are “ok with it”.

She added: “I believe in choice, so nothing is ever asked without permission.”

In her next story, she wrote: “I only ask questions that are pre approved by the compliance division.

“A lot of meetings happen before I see the script and then I can add my voice.”

Many fans took to Twitter to point out how Kaz and Tyler were interviewed at their table, rather than on the couch with Laura, as the other finalists were.

Addressing this, Laura said: “We invited Kaz to sit with Toby for his exes segment but she didn’t want to and it’s her choice to make.

“Everything is run through with the islanders beforehand. It’s all about choice.”

Laura then wrote: “Hundreds of people work on Love Island. My job is not to organise seating arrangements. I barely know what seat I’m sitting in before the show as set changes so much.”

The host also reminded fans that the islanders are “just regular people were nervous on live telly”.

She wrote: “I’m sure some would have loved a drink for the nerves!”
