Lauren Conrad explains the one essential for a perfect Instagram feed

Lauren Conrad might just be the Queen of Instagram, have a look at her account here for evidence, and she's shared her top tip for a fabulous IG feed. Although her account mixes everything, from her baby news announcement to a new jewellery line, it all manages to fit perfectly together. According to Lauren, that's down to one specific thing, lighting. In conversation with Pop Sugar, Lauren explained why good lighting is so key for getting her photos on point. In addition to lighting (with the former reality TV star citing natural light as the best FYI), consistency is also key.

For her, it's about holding something back and not sharing everything, and to be fair that's not a bad plan. Lauren, who rose to fame on The Hills, said:

"I think as far as taking photos that have a softer appearance, it's really important to have good lighting honestly. I take photos all day long, but I only post once or twice a week because I do like consistency throughout a feed. I think it's about not sharing everything. "For me, if you go back a little further, I had some photos that I would take in the evening. But in the last year or two I kind of stopped doing that. Almost my entire feed is taken during the day in natural light".
