PEOPLE confirmed Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth split this weekend, stating that both parties wanted to end the marriage to focus “on themselves and their careers.”
“Liam and Miley have agreed to separate at this time,” a rep for Cyrus told the publication.
“Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what’s best while they both focus on themselves and careers.
“They still remain dedicated parents to all of their animals they share while lovingly taking this time apart. Please respect their process and privacy.”
While Miley has been away on holiday, Liam is back at home in Oz and doesn’t seem to be doing as well as his former wife.
He told the Australian Daily Mail: “You don’t understand what it’s like,” he said when asked about the break up. “I don’t want to talk about it mate.”
On the other side of the world, the ‘Nothing Breaks Like A Heart’ singer was seen kissing and cuddling Brody Jenner’s ex-wife Caitlyn Carter this week in Italy.
Carter and Brody Jenner also announced the end of their own relationship just last week. They had been married for one year.
