Liam Neeson Claims He Was “Not Drunk” on the Late Late Show

We love a bit of Liam Neeson here in the Her.ie office, but a few weeks ago the actor faced some criticism after it was claimed that he was drunk when he appeared on the 50th anniversary special for RTE’s The Late Late Show.

The Irish Daily Star reports today that the actor has finally broken his silence about his questionable appearance and defended his honour by stating that he wasn’t drunk.

At the time the show was aired on live television, Neeson’s agent strongly denied that the actor was drunk when he was interviewed by Ryan Tubridy.

Over-tired? Liam slurred his words during his interview on the Late Late Show.

And now, Liam has hit back at his critics.

“It was a 50-year celebration. There were old pals in the green room at RTE that I hadn’t seen for 25 to 30 years,” said the actor.

“The on-air interview was almost an intrusion. Plus, I hadn’t slept for two days,” he added.

Liam then went on to state that his sleep pattern had been affected greatly ever since he had a bad motorbike crash in 2000.
