When not dining at the Met Gala ball (or taking that selfie with Kanye), Lily Allen has revealed she finds visiting a therapist very useful to help manage all the different aspects of her life.
During an interview with Beat magazine, the British singer admitted that going to therapy is a top priority for her, as she often takes on more than she can handle.
The 29 year old spoke about the pressures in her life, and acting as a mother to not just her kids:
“(I have therapy) when I need it. I had a session last week for the first time in a year. My godfather had died, a friend had turned into the Wolf of Wall Street, and another friend is having a bad time, and I try and mother everyone. And trying to do that while relaunching a pop career and looking after children got a bit much for a minute.”
The Sheezus singer went on to reveal that she went to a session with her ‘shrink’ following an incident where she worried she might have cancer:
“I’d been so manic. I got home and took off a ring, and there was a big black mole. I Googled it, and it said ‘melanoma’. I didn’t want to tell (my husband) Sam. Eventually I went to the doctor – it was a blood blister. But I made an appointment with my shrink the next day.”
Lily Allen has previously opened up about dealing with depression in the past, allegedly having attempted suicide when she was a teen.
