Singer Mariah Carey has just unveiled her latest project… a non-alcoholic ‘melodic beverage’ called Butterfly.
The drink will allow consumers to unlock exclusive content through the barcode on the bottle.
Users will be able to scan the barcode on the side of the bottle and in turn, will be granted access to a new social network hosting exclusive photos and videos. The network will be hosted on the smartphone app ‘Go N’Syde Beverage’.
Speaking at a press conference in New York City earlier this week, Mariah explained her motivation behind Butterfly:
"I have always wanted to do something with a beverage... This is a whole ‘nother thing. We can do this, and I will almost be in the room with you."
Mariah also took the opportunity to squash any retirement rumours, telling media:
“I will always make music. When I said it could be my last, that's because tomorrow's not promised to anyone.”
