Say it isn't so!

Please, Michael, if you’re reading this, please reconsider.

The 39-year-old actor has spoken about taking a very long break from his profession.

The Kerry man is appearing in upcoming film Assassin’s Creed in 2017 but has spoken of his exhaustion at working too much.

Speaking to Time Out, the actor spoke of his commitment to making numerous films:

“It’s been pretty full on. I had a ferocious appetite and energy for it, and I went at it like a maniac. But I’m going to take some downtime now.

“The last five years, I was verging on being a workaholic. I’ve just been going from film to film.”

While Assassin’s Creed is Michael Fassbender’s latest work, the Irish actor appeared in Steve Jobs, Macbeth and Shame in a short number of years. Michael even mentioned quitting the profession altogether:

“I’m not ruling it out. I’m not saying it’s going to happen, but a part of me thinks you have a time as an actor when you’re at your best.

“There’s a journey to it, and then it’s downhill.”

No Michael! Don’t say that please.

In the meantime, let’s just enjoy his acting while we still can.
