Michael Fassbender In Macbeth – The First Official Images Have Been Released

The first official stills from upcoming Shakespearean film Macbeth have been released. One image sees Michael Fassbender, who plays the lead role, get up close and personal with Marion Cotillard (Lady Macbeth) and another photo sees him about to undergo battle. Fassbender gets close to actress Marion Cotillard who plays his wife "The trauma is something we know about" the Oscar-nominated star told The Daily Mail. Michael has described his character as someone who throws himself into battle as a way of dealing with mental anguish. "In World War I they called it battle fatigue, and it was probably more horrific in Macbeth’s days, when they were killing with their bare hands, and driving a blade through bodies". Macbeth going into battle "He’s having these hallucinations, and he needs to return to the violence to find some sort of clarity, or peace," said Fassbender. Macbeth, directed by Justin Kurzel, is set for release in early 2015.
