So sad.

The Wanted singer Nathan Sykes has spoken out about the death of his fellow bandmate Tom Parker for the first time since his death in March.

Tom sadly passed away on March 30th after he had been diagnosed with a terminal brain tumour two years before at the age of 33.

The band had gone on tour earlier this year to show support for Tom, with Nathan rejoining the group as he said it was the “right thing to do.”

Nathan told The Mirror: “There are more important things and that time we had with Tom, looking back, is more important than anything.

“Especially the last show, it was a tough one, it was quiet afterwards. I think there was just this kind of energy in the air, that I’ve never really seen an arena like it. It was kind of a beautiful evening, but something I’ve never experienced.

“In my opinion, The Wanted will always be a five-piece, I think our focus has shifted in terms of supporting each other and doing things together that can make a difference.”

Announcing the sad news of Tom’s passing, his wife Kelsey posted a heartbreaking tribute on Instagram back in March.

She wrote: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we confirm Tom passed away peacefully earlier today with all of his family by his side.

“Our hearts are broken. Tom was the centre of our world and we can’t imagine life without his infectious smile and energetic presence.

“We are truly thankful for the outpouring of love and support and ask that we all unite to ensure Tom’s light continues to shine for his beautiful children.

“Thank you to everyone who has supported in his care throughout. He fought until the very end.”
