You know when Queen Elizabeth puts a picture of you on display at Buckingham Palace, you’ve officially made it.

And the latest picture to emerge on a table in the palace is that of the newlywed Duke and Duchess of Sussex. As Queen Elizabeth welcomed the Honorable George Brandis, the Australian High Commissioner to Buckingham Palace this morning, the never-before-seen picture took pride of place in the palace for the very first time.

The image which can only be seen in the background of one of the official shots features Prince Harry in a dapper blue suit and Meghan in pale fitted blue dress with her hair down and straight. The pair look as close as ever as they can be seen smiling with Meghan’s hand placed on Harry’s chest.

It is unclear when the image was actually taken however, Hello Magazine report that it was taken in early December by photographer Alexi Lubomirski as part of their engagement photoshoot.

The celebrity photographer spoke about taking their engagement photos last year explaining to the BBC that “it was just one of those magical moments when you’re a photographer and everything falls into place.”

It honestly sounds like a true fairytale.
