It’s safe to say that everyone got excited when Westlife announced their tour.

It was a long time coming and die-hard fans jumped at the opportunity to see the lads sing live again. Time has absolutely flown by and Westlife’s Twenty tour has sadly come to an end.

Nicky Byrne got quite emotional about it ending and took to Instagram to share a very touching post.

He said: “And just like that The Twenty Tour has come to an end. To say we have enjoyed ourselves would be an understatement. The fans have been simply unbelievable!! This Reunion has been an incredible experience for myself and my family Georgina, Rocco Jay and Gia.

“Giving up my Radio Show in Ireland after five years on air to embark on this adventure was always going to be bittersweet, but celebrating 20 years of Westlife really was something quite remarkable. Nothing can ever surpass seeing the joy on my kids faces looking up at their Dad on stage doing my thing, that memory will be forever etched in my heart. I am a very lucky man.

“From that opening night in May, we managed to complete a whopping 50 Shows around the globe, 5 months, covering both Hemispheres and performing to nearly 600,000 people.

“I will take away truckloads of memories from this tour, most notably seeing all of you having the times of your lives, dancing and singing all the songs, reliving our youth all over again!”

Nicky went on to thank everyone that made the tour happen, from “stylists, wardrobe, musicians, caterers, sound guys and truckers.”

“I save the last Thank You and reserve a very special hug to my 3 band mates, my brothers from another mother.
The three I look over at during every show and think ‘only we know what this is really like.'”

He finished with: “We rocked the shit outta that.”
