Nicole Kidman Believes Scientology Turned Her Children Against Her

Aussie actress Nicole Kidman cut her ties with Scientology’s biggest celebrity devotee Tom Cruise many years ago but she believes that the religion ruined her relationship with her children.

The couple adopted Connor and Isabelle during their 11-year marriage and Tom won primary custody of the children when they divorced in 2001.

According to Vanity Fair, Scientology elders forced the children to limit their contact with their mother and branded Nicole a ‘suppressive person’ when she abandoned the religion.

"The central problem [in the marriage] was Nicole did not want to deal with Scientology," said former Scientologist Marty Rathbun.

Former Scientologist John Brosseau said the children were told to forget about their mother.

“They rejected Nicole -- they'd been instructed.

"They took a course, P.T.S./S.P., Potential Trouble Source/Suppressive Person, for persons connected in their lives who are an S.P.

Brousseau, who left the church in 2010 said: "[Bella and Connor] whispered to me, 'J.B., Nicole is an S.P.! Our mom's an S.P. -- we hate going and seeing her.'"

"The Scientology world hated Nicole.

"People in Sea Org were mandated to see every freaking Tom Cruise movie that came out. But if you ever mentioned an inkling to see a movie with Nicole, oh my God, you'd hear about it,” he said.

Last year, Isabelle Cruise spoke about the strained relationship with her mother.

According to New Idea, the mother and daughter recently started speaking after years of strain.

“I love mom,” said Isabelle.

“She’s my mom. She’s great. I see her sometimes [in Nashville] and I speak to her.”
