Nigella Lawson broke down in tears discussing her recent divorce and the media attention following a failed court case when she appeared on Michael McIntyre's BBC chat show.
Nigella was talking about her marriage breakdown to Charles Saatchi and the public scrutiny surrounding a failed court case against her former staff, saying the dramatic experiences felt like 'losing a layer of skin'.
Talking about her struggles during the past year, the TV chef is now moving on, saying:
"I'm alive and I've found somewhere to live… I have had better times, it is Spring and I am feeling better and I am very happy to be here. I have been alive for longer than you so I know life has its dips and it can get better and you can't fight it."
She later added that she believes the media coverage has affected her, even though she tries not to get involved in the gossip surrounding her personal life:
"I'm not an innocent, I understand how it works… I just don't involve myself. What I have found is it has given me a far too sensitised reaction to newspapers. We all like gossiping in our own lives so I don't take a lofty view. "
