Speculation is growing today that Nigella Lawson’s US show ‘The Taste’ could be cancelled, as the chef was prevented from flying to the country as a result of her previous drug use.

During a recent court appearance, Lawson admitted to using cocaine and marijuana and was barred from a flight from London to LA on Sunday morning as a result of her confession. The star’s The Taste co-star Anthony Bourdain has since tweeted that he is “absolutely mortified with embarrassment over the cruelty and hypocrisy of US actions re #Nigella travel. Unbelievable.”.

However, rumours are now circulating that Lawson’s difficulties could impact in whether a third series of the cookery show is commissioned by bosses, with a source telling the newspaper: “Nigella is obviously the big selling point for the show – she’s a big draw – and if she’s denied entry to the US and a visa to work here, then the future of the show is in doubt.”

Lawson has now been invited to apply for a visa, but is expected to face a drug test from US doctors before receiving the green light to resume travel.
