Taryn Manning, otherwise known as fanatical religious inmate Tiffany "Pennsatucky" Doggett on Orange Is The New Black, has taken out a restraining order against a former friend for cyber stalking her.
The 35-year old has accused Jeanine Heller of sending her threatening messages and harassing her online.
The actress’ lawyer told
E! News:
"The arrest followed an investigation by members of the New York County District Attorney's Office after it was reported that Ms. Heller had engaged in a course of conduct intended to cause reasonable fear of material harm to the physical health, safety and welfare of Taryn Manning.”
The woman was arrested and arraigned on Wednesday at a New York criminal court on a misdemeanour charge of stalking in the fourth degree. She was later released.
Following the arrest, the District Attorney received an Order of Protection which will prohibit Heller from contacting the actress or her family in person or by electronic medium. The order of protection, or restraining order, also bars Heller from coming into contact with the actress' dog, Penguin.
Heller has not commented directly about the case, but did post to her Twitter page yesterday evening:
‘Don't believe the lies. #truth will come to light’
She has since deleted the tweet. Heller will appear in court again on August 6
th.
