Eh, say what now?

Love Island is due to return in a little less than a week, and we’re absolutely buzzing.

This year’s contestants include some familiar faces, including the daughter of EastEnders’ Danny Dyer and former boybander Eyal Booker.

However, it also turns out that one of this year’s starting Islanders was formerly on Coronation Street.

Hayley Hughes, 21, says she featured as Audrey Roberts’ apprentice hairdresser in a non-speaking part last year.

She told The Mirror how she had wanted to be the “next Michelle Keegan” and would love to do more acting after her time on the ITV2 dating show.

She continued:

“I had a feature part on Corrie. It was a non speaking part. It was just my face on the telly.

“That was last year. I was working in the salon as a trainee hairdresser.

“I was in the salon with David Platt and the woman who plays Audrey. She’s really nice.

“I would love to do more acting. I went to a drama school in Manchester.”

Hayley went on to praise her “girl crush”, Michelle Keegan, as she revealed her other television role.

She continued:

“I love Michelle Keegan. I’m obsessed with her.  I’ve always followed her career.

“I like underdogs. She was just a normal girl working in Selfridges and she’s done so well for herself. Who knows… it could happen to me.

“She wasn’t on Corrie when I was there but I met her on Our Girl. I had a picture with her after I had a little feature part in the show. She is so sweet and lovely.”
