It comes following her co-presenter’s terminal cancer diagnosis

A Place In The Sun presenter Jasmine Harman teared up during a very ‘special episode’ of the show.

She said: “Today at 3pm on Channel 4 a very special episode of A Place in the Sun. It was probably the episode where I cried the most EVER!

“With lovely Themis and Paolo in Kapparis in Cyprus.”

It comes following the tragic news that her co-presenter, Jonnie Irwin, has terminal cancer.

The father of three revealed his lung cancer had spread to his brain, with him having initially been given by doctors just six months to live.

He said the diagnosis came after experiencing blurred vision in 2020.

Jonnie and wife Jessica chose to keep the diagnosis private until recently, and has said he can’t bear to tell his three-year-old who is poking fun at his hair loss as he doesn’t want to “shatter his innocence”.

“Within a week of flying back from filming, I was being given six months to live,” he said.

“I had to go home and tell my wife, who was looking after our babies, that she was on her own pretty much. That was devastating.

“All I could do was apologise to her. I felt so responsible.”

Speaking about keeping his diagnosis private, he told Hello magazine : “It’s got to the point now where it feels like I’m carrying a dirty secret, it’s become a monkey on my back.

“I hope that by shaking that monkey off I might inspire people who are living with life-limiting prospects to make the most of every day, to help them see that you can live a positive life, even though you are dying.”
