Prince Charles saved Meghan Markle from a making major fashion fail

Weird flex, but OK.

As Meghan Markle gears up for the arrival of her first child, it’s safe to say that the whole family is excited to welcome a new baby into the fam.

With Kate and William already having three gorgeous children, the Duchess of Cambridge is well used to pregnancy style, however this was the first time Meghan had to conform with the dress code… and it seems her father-in-law gave her a bit of help.

Her first overseas state dinner was in Fiji alongside Prince Harry, and many wondered why she didn’t wear a tiara as Kate would have borrowed one for previous state dinners.

It turns out that Prince Charles told Meghan to not wear a crown as it would be a major faux pas. Apparently, lavish headpieces are to be avoided in certain Commonwealth areas, and Fiji is one of them.

Charles said wearing a tiara is “reminiscent of a bygone era,” as well as too “extravagant.”

The Daily Mail notes: “Meghan did not understand all of this because she was new to the role and so Prince Charles told her that it would not be appropriate.

“It was very kindly done.”
