According to Andrew Morton's book, Diana: In Her Own Words, the princess used to do all of the washing, cooking, cleaning, and hoovering in her sister's flat before she got involved with Charles.
What's more is that her sister, Sarah Spencer, was actually dating Charles before Diana was too.
Gotta keep it in the family, eh?
Morton wrote that Lucinda Craig Harvey, Sarah's roommate at the time, was fairly uncomfortable with Diana coming over to clean all the time.
She said:
Apparently, Diana wasn't too delighted about the arrangement either, writing in a letter to Craig Harvey some years later: “Gone are the days of Jif and dusters. Oh dear, will I ever see them again?” No girl, you won't. Diana got engaged to Charles in 1981. The pair married a few months later and had two children together - Harry and William. She never touched Jif again.“Diana hero-worshipped (Sarah), but Sarah treated her like a doormat.
“She told me not to be embarrassed about asking Diana to do the washing up and so on.”
