Los Angeles prosecutors say Tory Lanez shot Megan in her foot after an argument.

Canadian rapper Tory Lanez has been charged with shooting female artist Megan Thee Stallion.

Megan Thee Stallion, who may be best known for the gigantic success of ‘WAP’, made the accusation that she was shot by Lanez after an argument over a month ago.

Lanez now faces two felony charges, one count of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and carrying a loaded, and one unregistered firearm in a vehicle.

The complaint states Lanez “inflicted great bodily injury” on Megan Thee Stallion.

He was arrested the night of the shooting but released after posting bail.

A message sent to his representative was not immediately returned.

The 28-year-old is due to be arraigned Tuesday in Los Angeles. If convicted, he faces a maximum sentence of almost 23 years.

Lanez controversially released an album shortly after the allegations were made, where he rapped lyrics claiming that he did not shoot the popular female artist.

He said: “Megan’s people trying to frame me for a shooting. I ain’t do it.”

In a social media post shared after the shooting, Megan referred to the incident as “the worst experience” of her life.

Megan’s fame has skyrocketed in 2020, having just appeared on the most recent episode of Saturday Night Live.
