Reese Comforts R-Patz and Shares Her Experience With Cheating Ex Hubby Ryan Phillippe

Reese Witherspoon is comforting Robert Pattinson because she “felt the same pain” when she was the victim in a public cheating scandal seven years ago.

The actress was left heartbroken and humiliated after publically discovering her husband Ryan Phillippe's relationship with Abbie Cornish in 2006.

According to Radar Online, the Oscar Award winning actress spent hours consoling her friend in her Californian ranch, where he has been staying since he moved out of the home he shared with Kristen Stewart.

A source said: “Reese went through a very public cheating scandal herself so her first thought when she heard about Rob was to reach out to him.

“Reese knows what it’s like to be on display when your heart is broken so she felt like opening up her home to Rob was the right thing to do.”

Reese is currently pregnant with her third child.

The source revealed that Reese feels Rob needs space and support to deal with the humiliation of Kristen Stewart’s public betrayal.

“She’s not trying to lead Rob one way or another regarding his future with Kristen,” said the source.

“Reese and her husband Jim Toth are just giving Rob the space he needs.”

The pair became friends during the filming of Water for Elephants in which they played lovers.
