Will the Bridgerton star go full Matt Damon and embrace his new community with a SuperValu bag in hand? We can only hope.

Bridgerton actor Regé-Jean Page has touched down in Ireland to begin shooting the upcoming film Dungeons and Dragons.

In pictures obtained by The Mail Online, Page was snapped leaving a plane in Belfast, where filming for the fantasy movie is taking place.

As well as Page, Dungeons and Dragons will star Chris Pine, Michelle Rodriguez, Justice Smith and Hugh Grant.

It’s been a hectic month for Page. Just weeks ago, Lady Whistledown announced that the Bridgerton breakout star would not be returning for season two of the hugely popular series.

On the show’s official Twitter account, the resident gossip wrote:

“While all eyes turn to Lord Anthony Bridgerton’s quest to find a Viscountess, we bid adieu to Rege-Jean Page, who so triumphantly played the Duke of Hastings.

“We’ll miss Simon’s presence onscreen, but he will always be a part of the Bridgerton family.”

Page confirmed his departure too, describing his time with the cast as being a “pleasure and a privilege”. He added that his experience on the show had been “beyond anything” he could have imagined.

All is not completely lost, however, as the series’ creator, Shonda Rhimes, hinted that he could return for a cameo.

In any case, Page remains a busy man. As well as Dungeons and Dragons, the star will appear alongside Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans in Netflix’s upcoming spy thriller The Gray Man.

On top of that, many people are holding onto the hope that the British actor will be the next James Bond.

One thing’s for sure though – his star is definitely on the rise, and we’ll be following his journey, and his stay in Ireland, with great interest.
