Rihanna’s New Tat Inks Tribute To Her Late Grandmother

Rihanna has paid tribute to her late grandmother through her own inked image, this one tattooed across her ribcage.

The singer was left devastated earlier this year when she lost her beloved grandmother Dolly following a long battle with cancer. She has now honoured her grandmother with an image comparing her to an Egyptian goddess.

The star posted a photo of the tattoo on photo-sharing online network Instagram. The tattoo shows Isis kneeling with her hands in front of wings that frame Rihanna's chest.

"Goddess Isis - Complete Woman - Model for future generations - #GRANGRANDOLLY - always in and on my heart," Rihanna wrote as the accompanying caption.

In the photo, Rihanna covers her bare chest with her arm to show off the vast inking.

The ‘Where Have You Been’ singer was spotted emerging from a tattoo parlour in London over the weekend, ahead of her performance at the London 2012 Paralympics closing ceremony last night.

The 24-year-old joined Coldplay on stage to bid farewell to the sports extravaganza that has gripped audiences from across the world this summer.

Rihanna took to the stage to perform ‘Princess of China’ with Coldplay frontman Chris Martin. The British band wowed with a non-stop 15-track set list, which included a medley of some of their biggest hits through the years.

And it was all about the entrance as Rihanna entered the stadium on a pirate ship, clad in bright orange drawstring trousers and a matching top with flowing long sleeves. She was introduced as “a special guest of Coldplay”.

Again, Rihanna made sure her fans felt included in her every move as she tweeted; "What a blessed evening!!!! #Coldplay #HOV #paralmpicsclosingceremony”.
