One of the major perks of being royal is also the travel - there isn't a corner of the world these people don't see. However, the travel probably does get a little old after a while. The royal family spend so much time away, they do start to miss the comforts of home. Who could blame them, in fairness? That is exactly why they insist on one pretty lavish rule whenever they are staying away from home. What is it, we hear you ask? Specific bed sheets... Queen of the World, a documentary about the Queen, aired on ITV earlier this year. A number of interesting family secrets were revealed, including the bed sheet fact. During one of the snippets, it was revealed that the Royal Family always have their own particular sheets when travelling, to give the impression that they are sleeping in their own bed. Loves it! “After a long day of travelling, there is nothing better than going into a bed that doesn’t feel like a hotel bed," said Master of the Household of Rideau Hall, Christine Macintyre. “And that is what you are trying to do - is to make it feel like they are in their own bed.” “There are special sheets that are used for members of the Royal Family." “And they are kept aside and brought out on only those special occasions when they are here.”
