'I said yes' Love Island's Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard are officially a couple

G'wan the lads.

Maura Higgins and Curtis Pritchard are now officially a couple, ie; they've locked it down, ie; they're boyfriend and girlfriend.

The pair confirmed the news this week in an interview with OK! magazine, saying that they had decided to take their time with their relationship and not rush things for the sake of it.

And yeah, in fairness it seems to have worked out in their favour.

"He asked and I said yes obviously," said Maura. "He took me away for a weekend break, and he asked me out over dinner in London the next day."

Lovely.

Curtis added that he bided his time before asking Maura to be his girlfriend because he didn't want to rush their relationship so soon after leaving the villa.

"I want something that's going to last forever," he said. "There's no point in rushing thing. We've only known each other a short amount of time."

Maura, who will be taking part in this year's series of Dancing On Ice, said that that although she's been falling around on the ice a lot, she isn't falling around with worry that her fella is cracking onto someone new.

This comes after rumours were abound that Curtis had been deep in chat with Cheryl Cole while filming BBC's The Greatest Dancer.

“I spoke to Cheryl for about five minutes. There's been no messages or anything," said Curtis.

“I don't care about the stories, they don't bother me. I'm not threatened by Cheryl," added Maura.

The pair coupled up late in this summer's series of Love Island following Curtis's failed half-boyfriend half-girlfriend relationship with Amy Hart.

The former cabin crew member decided to quit the villa when she discovered that Maura was into her ex, leaving the two room to crack on and get to know each other.

They finished fourth in the final earlier this year.
