Sarah Hyland is unrecognisable in these new snaps

We did NOT know her at first.

Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland is recognisable worldwide due to her role in the popular sitcom and now has 5.3 million followers on Instagram, not too shabby. Despite the fact that we've spent more time watching MF than we care to share, we still didn't realise that it was Sarah in these new images as she's sporting long hair and glasses. Not only is her hair a lot longer than the blonde bob we've come to know and love but the colour is a major change as well.

It's unclear whether the dramatic new look is for a role or the 26-year-old just felt like a change but either way, she looks like another person entirely. Although she originally shared the hair transformation on her Instagram account last month, it's the glasses that have disguised her to the point where we didn't recognise the popular actress.

Sarah was also spotted filming the new season of Modern Family in Los Angeles recently and all we can say is we can't wait for the new episodes to drop.
