“She’s Beautiful”… Granny Huberman Is As Proud As Punch With First Grandchild

Brian and Amy aren’t the only two besotted with their new daughter Sadie, Amy Huberman’s mum has spoken of the family’s delight at the birth of her new grandchild.

Sadie O’Driscoll was born in the National Maternity Hospital at 10:30am on Sunday morning, just hours before dad Brian took to the field for Ireland’s defeat to England and only hours after mum Amy strutted her stuff on the IFTA’s red carpet.

Amy’s mum Sandra arrived at the Holles Street hospital in Dublin and spent about an hour with her daughter.

“She’s flying. We’re delighted,” Sandra told the Irish Sun.

“The baby is beautiful. She’s our first grandchild.”

Dad Brian O’Driscoll arrived at the hospital just before 10am yesterday. He pulled up in a silver taxi with a red sports bag and was “grinning from ear-to-ear”.

A number of passers-by shouted out “Congratulations Brian” to which he replied: “Thanks very much”.

Brian spent a number of hours at the hospital before leaving through a back entrance to allow mother-in-law Sandra in.

It’s believed Amy had an emergency C-section after going into labour on Sunday morning.

Brian rushed straight back to the hospital after Sunday’s afternoon game and spent all evening with his two girls.

It’s understood Amy will be in hospital for a couple more days before being discharged with little Sadie.
