Shia LaBeouf looks totally unrecognisable in preparation for his latest film

We had to do a double take.

We honestly had to do a double take.

As he prepares to take on one of his most challenging roles to date, to play his father, Jeffery Craig LaBeouf, in a new upcoming flick, Honey Boy – Shia looks so different.

Shaving his head and his beard, the 31-year-old was spotted looking unrecognisable without his signature curly hair as he took a break from set to grab a coffee.

This is expected to be a difficult film for Shia, as he digs into his past – one which he finds difficult to speak about. According to the Daily Mail, Shia’s father Jeffery, who he will be portraying in this role, was convicted of attempted rape in the 1980s and also suffered an alcohol addiction.

Shia also admitted that his troubled background and unsteady relationship with his father led him to rehab last year where they told him he was suffering from PTSD.

Speaking about his time in rebab to Esquire magazine, Shia said:

“You keep talking about it. You keep bringing it up, acting it out, thinking about its smell. Every which way you can get to it. And a lot of my s*** has to do with my relationship with my dad. That dude is my gasoline.”

Honey Boy is set to be released in 2020 with no exact date given yet.
