He may not be on the judging panel this year, but it hasn’t stopped Louis Walsh from grabbing the headlines.
The former X-Factor judge has hit out at his replacement Nick Grimshaw, labelling him as a ‘bad booking’.
While appearing on the new Channel 4 chat show hosted by Gogglebox favourites Steph and Dom, Walsh continued:
“He’s a nice enough guy, but he’s like a groupie – you only ever see him with famous people.”
According to The Sun, Walsh didn’t stop at Grimshaw, turning his attention to Cheryl Fernandez-Versini.
There’s no love lost between the pair, who famously fell out last year, and it seems like Louis still doesn’t rate her work in the judging stakes:
“She’s very ambitious – she’s not there for the music.”
Rumours that Louis Walsh was set to re-join the panel as a fifth judge have since been dubbed as ‘speculation’.
Jumping to Grimshaw’s defence, Simon Cowell recently said he felt like Nick will come into his own during the live shows adding:
”I did say to Nick beforehand: ‘If it all comes on top you know what the score is. You will get good weeks and not so good weeks.’ I think he is tough and he gets it. I think he’s doing good. Is he being sidelined for Louis [Walsh]? No chance, forget it. He is 100% safe.
”When you do the live shows that is when it really counts. He is fun to work with, and loves being on the show. It just takes a little while for people to get used to new people.”
