Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas issue joint statement after reaching temporary custody agreement

Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas have spoken out for the first time since reaching a temporary custody agreement for their two children.

Posting it to Instagram it read: "After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK. We look forward to being great co-parents."

The agreement comes after the two went through an intense four-day period of court mediation in New York where Sophie is staying with their two daughters Willa and Delphine.

In documents obtained by People Magazine, it was revealed that the agreement will only last until January 7th, 2024 so Joe and Sophie will have to "jointly submit a status report letter" before December 2.

The former couple will each get two weeks at a time with their daughters Willa and Delphine up until then.

They will also be allowed to travel to anywhere in the US and the UK, meaning that Sophie can bring the girls to England.

This comes after the 'Game of Thrones' actress accused her ex-husband of withholding their children's passports calling for "the immediate return of children wrongfully removed or wrongfully retained," with Sophie's legal team asserting the "wrongful retention" began on September 20th.

She later produced a letter allegedly written by her estranged husband that indicated that the couple had agreed to raise their daughters in England just three months before he filed for divorce.

In it, he writes about his hopes to see the family spending their future in a property located in Wallingford, Oxford.

The letter, which was addressed to the property owner in a bid to persuade them to sell their €8.5 million estate, reads:

"When my wife and I decided we were going to spend more time in the UK and search for a permanent home, our daughter expressed three unwavering requirements: having chickens, a pony and a Wendy house.

"While many of the houses we viewed met this criteria, the moment we turned the corner and caught sight of the charming blue shutters adorning, we experienced a sense of magic unlike anything we had felt before."
