Star Wars’ Mark Hamill is going to get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

The ceremony takes place on March 8.

He’s used to being in the stars in a galaxy far, far away but now Mark Hamill will be getting his own star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

According to Variety, the actor will be getting the 2,630th star of the famous Hollywood attraction on March 8 at the El Capitan Theatre.

Star Wars creator George Lucas and Han Solo himself, Harrison Ford, will be on hand to celebrate Mark’s huge achievement.

Ana Martinez, producer of the Walk of Fame ceremonies, told the publication:

“‘Star Wars’ fans will be over the moon that hearing their idol Mark Hamill is going to be honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

“We are proud to add this extraordinary actor on our historic Walk of Fame.”

The actor said that he was “beyond grateful” to be getting a star on the Walk of Fame – before seemingly getting in a dig at the President of the United States, Donald Trump.

He wrote:

“Can’t say this is a dream come true because I was never foolish enough to think something like this could ever happen.

“When part of me doubts I deserve such an honor, I remind myself that someone got a ‘Star’ for just one crappy reality show.”

The actor first rose to fame in the 1970s and 1980s playing Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy.

He went on to reprise the role in 2015’s The Force Awakens and, more recently, The Last Jedi in 2017.

He is also known for his voice work, particularly as the Joker in Batman: The Animated Series in the 1990s.

He voiced the role again in the Arkham Asylum video games and animated film Batman: The Killing Joke.
