“I will be cheering you all on”

Strictly Come Dancing stars Tom Fletcher and Amy Dowden have tested positive for Covid-19.

The McFly frontman confirmed the disappointing news on Instagram this evening.

The All About You singer was due to perform with McFly in Glasgow tonight, but now has to isolate for 10 days.

Professional dancer Amy has also tested positive for Covid. She stressed that she is not suffering from any symptoms, but will also undergo ten days of isolation at home.

The BBC stated the duo will return to Strictly Come Dancing on week three.

“The pair are now self-isolating separately following the latest government guidelines.”

“While they will both miss Saturday’s live show, Strictly Come Dancing protocols mean that all being well, they will return the following week.”

Amy added: “I’m not suffering any symptoms but am now isolating at home. I have no doubt that over the next 10 days my mind will be going crazy with choreography ideas ready to get back on the Strictly dance floor for the live show in week 3!”

“Thank you for all of the support and good luck to all of the couples this week. I will be cheering you all on,” she added.

The couple made their Strictly debut on Saturday’s first live show.

Tom and Amy opened the show with a cha cha cha to September by Earth, Wind, and Fire.

Strictly confirmed the duo will return to the competition after ten days of isolation.
