Sydney Sweeney is the favourite to be the next Bond girl

The producers are bringing several new faces to the franchise

Sydney Sweeney rose to fame as Cassie in HBO’s Euphoria, and has since gone on to impress with roles in The White Lotus and Anyone But You.

Now, it seems she could be about to move into an upper echelon of movie royalty by potentially becoming one of the iconic Bond girls.

According to Instant Casinos, Sweeney is the odds-on favourite to play the next Bond Girl opposite 007 at 5/2.

Sweeney’s closest contender is Wednesday star Jenna Ortega at 11/2, followed by Lily Collins and Millie Bobby Brown at 13/2 each.

If it happens, the 26-year-old will join an illustrious list of ladies who have taken on the role over the years, including Halle Berry, Ana De Armas, and Léa Seydoux.

Sweeney has already signed on for the third season of Euphoria, which is set to be released in 2025 – the same year that Bond 26 is rumoured to be hitting our screens.

Could we be seeing the addition of two new faces in the next film then? Aaron Taylor Johnson has reportedly had a formal offer from Eon Productions, the company behind the brand.

If we receive an announcement in the coming weeks confirming Johnson’s casting, we can assume we’ll be getting many more instalments of the much-loved spy thriller for many years to come.

The Nocturnal Animals star is just 33-years-old, five years younger than the age Daniel Craig was when he made his Bond debut in Casino Royale.

The James Bond series has been looking for someone to take over the iconic secret agent role ever since 2021.

The era led by Craig produced some of the franchise’s most acclaimed movies, such as Casino Royale and Skyfall, which many fans regard as the best film in the series.

Various names have been suggested as potential successors, including Idris Elba, Cillian Murphy and Theo James.

With the speculation surrounding Aaron Taylor Johnson intensifying over recent weeks, it seems the producers might finally have their man.

Although production on the new James Bond movie had been delayed due last year’s Hollywood strikes, insiders say a script is currently being worked on.

Filming is scheduled to take place at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire later this year.
