“An amazing miracle”.

Taylor Swift left one superfan speechless after paying a surprise visit to check in on the little girl who is in the final stages of her battle with cancer.

Thirteen-year-old Delaney Clements was diagnosed with neuroblastoma when she was just eight years of age, but recently entered hospice care after news that the cancer had spread to her brain.

Announcing the sad news on Facebook, her mum Wendy Campbell wrote:

“We are so blessed to be surrounded with so many wonderful people who love and care for us and forever grateful for all the support we have received over the past five years.

“Our goal now is to keep Delaney as comfortable as possible and keep her spirits uplifted as she travels on a journey we fought so hard to avoid.”

The hashtag #delaneymeettaylor has been doing the rounds on social media, as the 13-year-old has always looked up to Taylor as her idol.

Just days before Christmas, her dream to meet the pop superstar came true and Taylor called into Delaney’s Colorado home on her journey home to Tennessee, TIME reports.

Taylor spent some quality time with the family, managing to squeeze in some selfies, and Delaney took to Instagram to express her excitement.

In a separate post, Delaney wrote:

“Literally speechless right now!!!!!”

“My new best friend (as I call her now) made a special stop from going home to Tennessee and surprised me and gave me the best present/ hugg ever!! Thank you !! I love you!! Happy holidays!!”

Taylor took to her own Instagram with a collage of photos from the day, writing “Merry Christmas Baby.”
