Since Beyonce changed the lyrics to her Resentment song at a recent Ohio gig, fingers have been pointing at Jay-Z and an alleged cheating scandal.
Now Mya has stepped up to deny all rumours that she was Jay-Z’s mistress.
The 34-year old has been at the centre of the rumour mill, and took to Instagram to blast the gossip as lies.
It was rumoured the rapper started his affair with the singer during the height of her fame in the early noughties, later supporting her financially after her career left the limelight.
In response to a user asking Mya if she was the other woman, the singer wrote:
‘Never did, never was, never will. Illegitimate, thirsty sources with no facts and that’s the ‘media’ for you-especially today. I play second to no one, pay my own bills, have my own label, own management company, rely on God only and respect myself & marriage too much for nonsense.
‘False rumors are crafted for ratings & numbers. And miserable, unhappy people need someone to judge to deter the attention away from their own misery and feel better about their miserable lives. If they did it to Jesus, they’ll do it to anyone. God bless.’
The cheating speculation comes while the couple are performing their joint On The Run tour.
