The Comeback Kid: Former Westlife Star Wants To Reinvent Himself As The Irish Michael Bublé

Shane Filan may have dropped off the radar after he went bankrupt last year, but according to reports this morning, the former Westlife star is busy reinventing himself for a comeback.

The Sunday World reports that Shane is currently holed up in Nashville, Tennessee. The city may be famous for its country music, but Shane is apparently busy meeting with some of the world’s top pop songwriters because he wants to top the charts as a solo artist.

“He is delighted with what he has accomplished so far and there will be a bidding war in the coming months to sign him up,” said a source.

Music insiders are hoping that Shane will become the Irish answer to Michael Bublé and Shane is working hard to reinvent his image and his sound.

Poor Shane has some severe financial difficulties last year. He lost his €10million fortune that he had earned during his Westlife days due to bad investments in the property market that he made with his brother. Their company is believed to have debits of at least €23million.

Last June, Shane was declared bankrupted in the UK. The singer moved his family there because of its more lenient insolvency laws, which means that he could start over again after a year had passed.

According to sources, Shane is hoping that taking another swing at the music business will help him clear his debts and establish him as a successful solo artist.
