Manchester United confirmed today that Sir Alex Ferguson will retire as manager at the end of the season.
The 71-year-old revealed this morning that he would be stepping down after more than 26 years at the football club and only a matter of weeks after securing United's 20th Premier League title.

Sir Alex Ferguson confirmed that he will be stepping down as manager.
The statement read: "The most successful manager in English football history will bow out after the West Bromwich Albion game on 19 May and join the football club board."
Sir Alex thanked his family and the club before saying: "The decision to retire is one that I have thought a great deal about and one that I have not taken lightly. It is the right time."
Celebrating the club's 20th Premier League title with his players.
Thoughts will no doubt turn to who will take over.
