According to Cosmopolitan UK, the bride-to-be was not able to single out one friend for the role - so she decided not to have one.
A spokesperson also confirmed to the publication that all of the former actress’ bridesmaids are children.
They said:
"Ms. Markle will not have a Maid of Honour. "She has a very close-knit group of friends and she did not want to choose one over the other. “They have all been actively involved in helping her prepare and will be there with her to celebrate on the day.”
It comes as Kensington Palace announced more details about the couple’s wedding in a lengthy statement on Friday morning.
They revealed that both of Meghan’s parents will be flying to the UK in the coming days to spend the lead up to the big day wth Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William and Kate Middleton.
The statement continued:
“Both of the bride's parents will have important roles in the wedding. “On the morning of the wedding, Ms. Ragland will travel with Ms. Markle by car to Windsor Castle. “Mr. Markle will walk his daughter down the aisle of St George's Chapel. “Ms. Markle is delighted to have her parents by her side on this important and happy occasion."
