The Sex Tests, The Screaming And The Secrets: Cheryl Cole Reveals All About Her Split From Ashley

Cheryl Cole has revealed that she went to a sexual health clinic for tests after she realised the true extent of her soccer husband Ashley Cole’s sexual exploits during their marriage.

The betrayed singer said his infidelity had been “putting her at risk” for a long time.

“I had to put my mind at rest,” the 29-year-old said.

Cheryl also admitted her split with the Chelsea soccer player drove her to a nervous breakdown.

She said the “sadness, physical pain, sickness and fury was like I’d never experienced.”

The British singer reveals all in her autobiography, Cheryl: My Story, which The Irish Sun features extracts from this weekend.

Cheryl said she attacked Ashley “like a lunatic” when she found out of his cheating, “shaking him, kicking and scratching his face.”

It was the Irish Sun that revealed his infidelity in 2008, less than two years after they had wed.

Cheryl said she screamed: “I hope she was worth it. It’s the end of your marriage. It’s f*cked!”

Cheryl described how she found out about Ashley’s sleeping around.

Ashley asked: “D’you want a cup of tea?”

He hardly ever made tea, and I sensed something was off. We were in the bedroom, it was about 11pm on Thursday, January 24^th, 2008, and he’d been acting weird all evening.

I said I didn’t, but Ashley went downstairs anyway, and I decided to follow him. I found him on the phone in the hallway and he was clearly flapping. I could tell he was talking to his agent, which set my heart beating ten to the dozen.

Then my phone rang. “Can you talk Cheryl? I’m afraid I have some bad news.”

It was Sundraj Sreenivasan, the lead of publicity for my record company Polydor.

“What is it?” I replied.

I was standing just a few feet away from Ashley now, staring at him-and I could feel my body going into shock.

Ashley was looking straight back at me with a worried look, still talking to his agent.

“I’m sorry to be the one to tell you,” he said, “A girl has come forward and said she’s had sex with Ashley.”

I just froze.

Cheryl describes how she ran to the computer to wait for the story to come online, how she felt when she first saw the girls face and how she questioned sisterhood for the first time ever.

“Weren’t girls meant to stick together? Now I was asking myself how one woman could do this to another.”

Meanwhile, Cheryl's television career could be on the horizon again as it was revealed Simon Cowell is willing to spend £2million (€2.5millon) getting Cheryl back on X Factor.

The show boss, who famously sacked her from the US version of the programme, wants the Girls Aloud singer and her manager Will.i.am to help the show receive a new boost of viewers for the singing talent search show.

A show insider told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "We need to do something dramatic and this be a coup. It would give us the best judging line-up in ‘X Factor’ history.”
