There’s a very sweet reason behind why Prince Eugenie didn’t wear a veil today

Heartwarming.

Today was a big day for the royal family as Princess Eugenie married her longtime partner, Jack Brooksbank.

The bride looked absolutely stunning in a snow white A-line gown, which is very reminiscent of Princess Grace’s dress.

Princess Eugenie opted to go for British designers Peter Pilotto and Christopher De Vos, which was very unexpected.

It was first thought that she was going for designer Erdem, so we’re happy so went for something outside of the box.

Her wedding shoes are a satin peep-toe style, and were designed by Charlotte Olympia.

If you haven’t seen her crown up close – then you need to take a look at it.

And although fans were loving her dress, many questioned why the royal opted for no veil and it turns out there’s a very special reason why.

Princess Eugenie had a surgery for her scoliosis when she was a child and it’s left a scar on her back.

And speaking on ITV’s This Morning recently, the royal revealed that she didn’t want to hide her scoliosis surgery scars and so, wanted to make sure they were proudly on show on her big day.

Speaking to Eamonn Holmes, Eugenie explained:

“I had an operation when I was 12 on my back, and you’ll see on Friday, but it’s a lovely way to honour the people who looked after me and a way of standing up for young people who also go through this.

“I think you can change the way beauty is, and you can show people your scars and I think it’s really special to stand up for that.”

We think we now love her even more.
